Macaroni Penguin

Macaroni penguins are found subantartic to the Antartic Peninsula. Also on Cspe Horn, the Falklands, South Georgia, and Prince Edward. They spend most of their time during the cold winter months fishing in cold oceans because they are more protected from the bitter conditions of the Antartic winter.

Macaroni penguins are one the biggest and heaviest of the penguins. Adults penguins generally average 70cm in height. One of their distinctive features is a long red-colored beak and a crest of thin bright-yellow feathers on its head.

Macaroni penguins only have a few natural predators: Leopard seals, killer whales, and passing sharks.

Adelie Penguins

Adelie penguins are the smallest of the penguins living on the Antarctica continent at about 28 inches tall. They like to nest and breed on the rocky, ice-free beaches in large colonies of ten thousands.

These penguins have a white circle around their eye, which I think makes them uniquely different from other penguins. They are powerful swimmers and can jump straight out of the water onto the water. They are often seen moving on the land by sledding down hill on their bellies.
